July 1 is celebrated as Maharashtra Agriculture Day (Krishi Din) to honor the birth anniversary of Vasantrao Naik, the "Father of the Green Revolution in Maharashtra" Purpose: To acknowledge and celebrate the vital role of farmers in the states development and to promote modern, sustainable farming techniques.
